Former EuroLeague champion Tyrese Rice: “NBA is so hard to watch”

Former EuroLeague champion Tyrese Rice recently took to X to express his disillusionment with the current state of the NBA, describing it as “hard to watch” due to what he perceives as an abundance of wild shots, incessant complaining, diminished physicality, and an absence of structured plays in the game.

Despite his criticism, Rice remains engaged with the sport, attempting to follow the league’s progress.

“NBA is so hard to watch and yet I sit here and make the attempt. Wild shots. Complaining on EVERY possession. No physicality in the game. Stars never foul but shoot hella FTs. No set plays ever. Just a bunch of super talented and skilled guys being talented and skilled,” Rice tweeted.

Having carved a successful career in European basketball after going undrafted in 2009, Rice’s professional journey predominantly unfolded across various European teams, including Maccabi Tel-Aviv, Khimki, and the Shenzen Leopards in China, where he briefly plied his trade.

Rice’s career trajectory reached its pinnacle in 2014 when he secured the EuroLeague title with Maccabi Tel-Aviv. Subsequently, his leadership and on-court prowess played a pivotal role in guiding Khimki to a EuroCup triumph in the following season, further solidifying his legacy in European basketball.

The year 2019 marked a significant milestone for Rice as he was honored with the Basketball Champions League MVP title.
