As the Miami Heat gear up to face the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday, Tyler Herro, whose name circulated in trade talks involving Damian Lillard during the offseason, expressed a distant approach toward the situation.
While the trade talks never came to fruition, Herro revealed that he has never had a direct conversation with Lillard regarding the rumors.
As the Heat prepare to face the Bucks on Monday, Herro expressed uncertainty about whether he would engage in a conversation with Lillard during the matchup.
Herro emphasized his respect for Lillard’s basketball prowess and clarified that he harbors no ill feelings toward the star guard. He acknowledged Lillard as a great player and affirmed his excitement at the prospect of competing against one of the best in the league.
“I’ve never spoken to him,” Herro said, per Anthony Chiang of Miami Herald. “I probably won’t [talk to him on Monday]. We’ll see what happens. I respect his game, for sure. There’s no hate toward him at all. He’s a great player. I’ve been watching him my whole life. So I’m excited to continue to compete against the best.”
