Boston Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla recently described how new guard Dalano Banton should view his role this season.

“I think the biggest thing is can you handle being in and out of the lineup? Knowing that when your name is called, it’s because we really need you to execute your role, we really need you to help us win. And at the same time know that our development team has really put in a long-term development plan to say like, ‘We want you to be here by the end of the season, All-Star break, postseason.’ So it’s just that idea in guys, it’s tough, I’ve coached guys like that. Can you feel appreciated and valued every day? Can you answer the bell when your name is called? And can you just get better every single day? He seems to have the mindset to want to do that.”
