Tyler Herro: I feel like I’m gonna be able to take away a lot from how the Celtics guarded me

Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro believes that he’ll become a better player following seeing different coverages from the Boston Celtics’ tough defense during the First Round (averaged 16.8 PPG/3.6 RPG/5.4 APG/2.8 TOV/38.5% FG/34.9% 3-PT/90.0% FT in five games/Heat lost 4-1).

(via Miami Heat):

Ira Winderman: “What was it like for you being cast as not only a leading man, but basically the only shot creator available for most of the series especially going against an elite defensive team like the Celtics? What was it like, that upgrade and what was asked of you? And also, what the Celtics sort of put you through with their defense?”

Herro: “It was fun, I obviously haven’t looked back on the whole series, it just ended, but I feel like I’m gonna be able to take away a lot from how they guarded me throughout the whole series with the face guards, double teams, switches, really crowding the paint when I did get in the paint, and then just really making it tough on me at all times, not allowing me to kinda see one go through to catch a rhythm. I thought they did a great job, but at the end of the day, it’ll make me better, make my team better, and I’m excited to get to work this offseason.”
