ASVEL experienced a data breach, losing sensitive players’ information

On the eve of LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne’s second EuroLeague game, unsettling news emerged. A Cybernews report revealed a cyberattack on the French organization by the ransomware gang NoEscape.

The breach resulted in the theft of 32 gigabytes of crucial data, encompassing players’ personal information, passports, ID cards, financial documents, contracts, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), and other confidential material.

The exact method of the breach remains unclear, and ASVEL has not publicly commented on the incident.

According to Cybernews, NoEscape has targeted 54 organizations, seeking ransom amounts ranging from hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars.
