AS Monaco overcame balance in the French derby over ASVEL

AS Monaco, led by Mike James, extended their EuroLeague winning streak to five games with a crucial victory over ASVEL in Round 6. Sasa Obradovic’s team has remained undefeated in the EuroLeague since October 13.

Mike James had another remarkable night with 15 points, shooting 3/5 from beyond the arc.

However, the standout performance came from Alpha Diallo, who stole the show with 21 points (6/9 from downtown), 9 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals in the first French derby of the season.

“No matter what the standings are, we know ASVEL was going to play close,” AS Monaco’s small forward and MVP of the game commented after the win.

“They play hard, they’re a good team and they’re well-coached. They have a lot of discipline. Whenever you come out with a win, I think it’s important.”
