Warriors head coach Steve Kerr recently shared his admiration for the young talent of Lakers’ shooting guard, Austin Reaves, whom he had the opportunity to coach during the 2023 FIBA World Cup.
After facing Reaves in the Western Conference Semifinals last season, Kerr coached the 25-year-old player on Team USA. Reaves played a crucial role coming off the bench, contributing significantly to Team USA’s fourth-place finish.
Kerr expressed his delight at the prospect of coaching Reaves and recognized his growing impact on the NBA.
“Way better to coach him than coach against him,” Kerr remarked, per Jovan Buha. “I loved coaching him. … He’s really emerging as one of the better young guys in the league.”
