Magic exercise team options on Paolo Banchero, Jalen Suggs, and Franz Wagner

The Orlando Magic have secured their promising young talents by exercising team options on three key players: forward Paolo Banchero, guard Jalen Suggs, and forward Franz Wagner.

President of Basketball Operations Jeff Weltman made the announcement, ensuring that these players will remain with the team through the 2024-25 season.

Banchero, the top overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, enjoyed a remarkable rookie season with the Magic. He played and started in 72 games, leading the team with impressive averages of 20.0 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game. His performance earned him the Rookie of the Year title.

Suggs, the fifth overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, has been a steady presence for Orlando. In 101 career NBA regular season games, he averaged 10.8 points, 3.6 assists, and 3.3 rebounds per game.

Wagner, selected eighth overall in the 2021 NBA Draft, has also been a key part of the Magic’s young core. With 159 career NBA regular season games under his belt, Wagner has averaged 16.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game.
