Chris Paul open to new role with Warriors: “All about winning”

The Golden State Warriors’ acquisition of Chris Paul this offseason raised questions about the 38-year-old point guard’s role with his new team.

Paul, known for his storied career as a starting point guard, is open to the possibility of coming off the bench for the Dubs, as he expressed during the team’s Media Day press conference.

He recalled his willingness to accept a bench role back in 2008 when he played for the Olympic team, emphasizing his unwavering commitment to winning.

“I actually had an opportunity in ’08 to come off the bench for the Olympic team, and that went pretty well,” Paul explained.

“And I think anybody who knows me knows that I’m all about winning. Whatever I can do to help our team win.”

While the specifics of Paul’s role with the Warriors remain to be determined, he emphasized that the team’s coaching staff and players would have discussions to determine the best approach.

“We’ve been hooping all summer, and I think for the season, it’s going to be whatever to help our team win,” Paul stated. “I think I’ve at least tried to show or prove that my entire career.”
