As Kai Jones faces scrutiny over his unconventional social media posts and Charlotte’s decision to keep him away from training camp with an uncertain future, Greg Brown III sheds light on his friend’s character.
Brown claimed that Jones has always been a confident and enthusiastic individual, and his recent behavior is an authentic reflection of his personality.
“People don’t understand, Kai has always been like that,” Brown said. “He’s always been very confident in himself, always been speaking very highly, always been very enthusiastic.
“I think people just have never seen the real Kai. Kai is really just showing the real Kai right now.”
At the same time, Brown admitted that Jones might be going through some situation in his life that affects his behavior.
“He might be going through a little something, just like all of us. That’s life itself. I feel like he’s fine right now. He’s just getting ready for a great season coming up,” he added.
Brown confirmed that he has been in touch with Jones and believes that the Hornet forward is simply being true to himself and is not overly concerned with the criticisms he’s received.
“He says he’s doing great,” Brown said. “He’s seeing all the harassment people been saying about him. He’s not really worried about that. He’s worried about getting better and being productive this year and helping his team win.”
