Former Lakers player Wayne Ellington has returned to the Heat, but this time as a player development coach on Erik Spoelstra’s coaching staff, per Anthony Chiang of The Miami Herald.
Ellington’s hiring comes after Anthony Carter departed to join the Grizzlies’ coaching staff.
The 35-year-old, who played for the Lakers during the 2021-22 season, is no stranger to the Heat, having previously been with the team from 2016 to 2019.
Ellington, known for his three-point shooting prowess during his playing career, will now contribute to the growth and development of Miami’s young talents.
