As the Warriors prepare to kick off another season, head coach Steve Kerr finds himself in the final year of his current contract with the team.

While an extension is yet to be finalized, Kerr maintains unwavering confidence that he will continue to lead Golden State, a team he has guided to four NBA championships.

Kerr’s contractual situation has been a topic of discussion as the training camp looms just a week away. However, he remains unfazed by the ongoing negotiations.

The coach expressed his optimism about staying with the Warriors, citing his strong desire to continue working alongside the team’s ownership.

“I feel great about my position here,” Kerr stated. “I want to be here. I know Mike [Dunleavy] and Joe [Lacob] want me here, and so I’m very confident something will get done.”

Despite the uncertainty surrounding his contract, Kerr’s focus remains firmly on the upcoming season. He is committed to the team’s success, whether he coaches with one year left on his contract or with an extension in place.

“I’m not stressed about it at all,” Kerr affirmed. “I’m perfectly capable of coaching whether I have one year left or an extension makes no difference. But I fully expect to be here.”
