NBA insider Marc Stein initially indicated the Mavericks’ interest in Buddy Hield, but journalist Grant Afseth provided more insight into the situation.

Despite the Mavericks’ interest, trade discussions surrounding Hield have hit a roadblock, as revealed by Afseth.

In a tweet, Afseth shared valuable insights, stating that while the Mavericks have expressed interest in pursuing a trade for Hield, there is currently “no traction” in the talks.

Additionally, it appears that the Pacers are not inclined to include Tim Hardaway Jr. in any potential trade involving Hield.

Furthermore, the Pacers are reportedly seeking a “sweetener” in exchange for Hield, which could potentially include acquiring a valuable first-round pick as part of the trade package.

Buddy Hield, who is 30 years old, had a solid season last year, averaging 16.8 points, 5 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game in 31 minutes of play. The trade talks continue, but obstacles remain in reaching a deal that satisfies both parties.
