Ex-Laker Kendrick Nunn nearing Olympiacos deal

Former Lakers, Heat and Wizards guard Kendrick Nunn is inching closer to joining Greek basketball giants Olympiacos as the NBA training camps approach.

With just over a week before the start of the training camp, Nunn has not secured an NBA deal and is exploring options overseas.

According to a report by novasports.gr, Nunn is currently in discussions with Olympiacos, although the Greek club has not officially confirmed the negotiations.

The American guard is considering the prospect of playing in Europe, with Olympiacos and Valencia expressing interest in his services. Olympiacos has reportedly tabled a two-year contract worth €5 million, awaiting Nunn’s decision.

Nunn’s NBA journey has been marked by challenges, including a knee injury that sidelined him for the entire 2021-22 season. During the 2022-23 season, he averaged 6.7 points for the Lakers and 7.5 points for the Wizards.

Having previously signed a two-year, $10 million deal with the Lakers in August 2021, Nunn faced injury setbacks that limited his impact in Los Angeles.

Now, with Olympiacos extending a tempting offer, Nunn faces a pivotal decision that could see him continue his basketball career in Europe.
