In a surprising move, veteran center Serge Ibaka is reportedly set to join EuroLeague side Bayern Munich.

The 33-year-old, who has had a storied career in the NBA, recently signed a one-year contract with the German club, as reported by sports journalist Marc Mundet.

Ibaka’s journey to Bayern Munich follows his tenure with the Milwaukee Bucks, where he played since February 2022.

During his time with the Bucks last season, he averaged 4.1 points and 2.8 rebounds in 11.6 minutes per game across 16 appearances.

The signing of Ibaka marks an intriguing development for Bayern Munich, who have also seen changes in leadership for the upcoming 2023-24 season. The appointment of Pablo Laso as the new head coach, a two-time EuroLeague champion, may have played a pivotal role in attracting Ibaka to Munich.
