Here’s a rare quote from Allen Iverson discussing international players after the Philadelphia 76ers’ 85-71 preseason win vs. CSKA Moscow back in 2006.

(via pennyccw):

Reporter: “Can you please compare the skills of the Moscow team to the level of play in the NBA?”

Iverson: “Oh, man, they have great players. A lot of those guys on that team can play in the NBA right now. You’re gonna see a lot more international players playing in the NBA because the talent level is so much better than in the past. Those guys feed off of guys like Steve Nash, Dirk [Nowitzki], and Peja [Stojakovic], guys that’s made a name for themselves in this league. Once you see the dream can come true, then you have so many other people feeling like they can do the same thing. So it’s gonna continue, international players are gonna get better and better. You’re gonna see a lot more international players playing in the NBA because they deserve their shot.”
