As Team USA gears up to compete against Canada for the bronze medal in the FIBA World Cup, Andre Drummond, a former member of the national squad, shared his thoughts on their recent loss to Germany in the semi-final.

Drummond, who secured Gold with Team USA at the 2014 FIBA World Cup in Spain, highlighted the remarkable growth of basketball on the international stage. He emphasized that the skill level of international players has significantly improved over the years.

While acknowledging the competitiveness of the game and the tenacity of the German team, Drummond also expressed his support for the American squad. Despite a tough loss, he commended their efforts and resilience.

“This shows you the growth of basketball internationally, just how good these players have gotten over the years. It’s no knock against the USA,” Drummond said on SiriusXM NBA Radio. “These guys on the international level have gotten so much better. Their teams have gotten so much better. It’s no surprise.

“They played hard, it was good game, shots didn’t fall, couple of mistakes down the stretch affected them. But all in all it was a good run for them – they have the chance to play for third [place] now. Just got to make the best of it.”
