Lithuania NT coach: “Serbian team was much better”

In a game where Bogdan Bogdanovic’s hot shooting was instrumental, Serbia secured an 87-68 victory over Lithuania at the Mall of Asia Arena.

This win propels Serbia once again into the Semi-Finals, and should Canada and the United States emerge victorious in their Quarter-Final matchups, it would also guarantee Serbia a spot at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Their upcoming Semi-Final opponent will be the winner of the Canada vs. Slovenia matchup.

On the other hand, Lithuania seemed to lose their momentum just two days after their impressive victory over the USA. Their three-point shooting cooled off considerably, going 4-of-22 after an initial 5-of-6 start.

Despite having four players scoring in double figures, none of them managed to surpass 14 points in this game.

“Toughest team won today. From our side, lack of energy and lack of emotions cost us the win,” said Kazys Maksvytis, Lithuania’s head coach. “We wasted too much of it a couple of days ago, Serbian team was much better.

“Our offense was bad, Serbian team pushed us to bad situations, and off of our bad offense they got cheap points, three-pointers, layups.”
