Following the Lakers’ elimination by the Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals, LeBron James stirred the basketball world with a controversial comment.

He hinted at the possibility of retirement, leaving fans and pundits speculating about his future. However, it appears that the 38-year-old superstar’s retirement is not imminent.

Byron Scott, a three-time NBA champion with the Lakers, was among those who never took LeBron’s retirement talk seriously.

“No. No, I didn’t,” Scott told Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson when asked if he believed LeBron was genuinely considering retirement. “I think LeBron still got another year or two left in him, and I think he wants to wait till Bronny gets to the NBA as well.

“So it’s going to be interesting to see the next couple of years. But when he talked about it hitting on it, I didn’t have a fear in the world that he was going to leave this year.”
