LeBron James and the entire NBA is poised to enter a major 2023 offseason full of doubts and uncertainty.

According to Bleacher Report’s Chris Haynes, James is “uncertain” of his status being in the Los Angeles Lakers heading to the 2023-24 season, and the superstar got consideration to potentially call a retirement.

Added by Haynes, James reportedly got a “lot to weigh” as his season with the Lakers crumbled to pieces via four-game West Finals sweep from the hands of the Denver Nuggets.

James, 38, capped off his 20th year of being in the league with a 40-point losing effort in Game 4 against the Nuggets. He will earn $97 million in his contract on the next two seasons, but the 2024-25 is a player option.

James further displayed signs of aging and injury vulnerabilities this 2022-23 campaign, missing 27 games due to foot, ankle and leg issues. As such, he still averaged 28.9 points, 8.3 boards, and 6.8 assists in 50 percent shooting for 55 total matches en route to an All-NBA Third Team inclusion.

Right at his postgame following the Lakers’ Conference Finals exit, James dropped interesting words regarding his future in the association.

James indeed got a lot of considerations to think about retiring, as Bronny, his oldest son, may hit the NBA following next year as he is slated to become a freshman standout for the USC Trojans.

And if indeed this is it for him, the entire basketball world will continue to sing praise about his greatness forever after compiling four league championships, four MVP trophies, multiple All-NBA and All-Star selections, the NBA’s all-time scoring crown, while turning himself as the greatest player of this generation.
