After their run to the Western Conference Finals last season, the Lakers have wasted no time in solidifying their roster for the upcoming season.

With a mix of retaining key players such as Austin Reaves and acquisitions of Gabe Vincent, Taurean Prince, Cam Reddish and Jaxson Hayes, the Lakers are aiming to make a strong push for the NBA Finals.

Former Lakers champion, Byron Scott, shared his thoughts on the team’s offseason moves, and he’s brimming with optimism.

Speaking to Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson, Scott expressed his admiration for the Lakers’ offseason maneuvers. “Ooh, I like them. I like them,” Scott enthused. “I love what they did offseason. Got to give Rob Pelinka a lot of credit. I think right now he’s executive of the year for what he was able to bring to the table.

“So I’m looking at that Purple and Gold – and I said this to the golf tournament the other day – I’d be surprised if they’re not in the NBA Finals barring injuries and all that we always know happens during the regular season. But very excited about the Purple and Gold this year.”

When asked about the most surprising move of the offseason, Scott singled out the acquisition of Gabe Vincent from the Heat. “The biggest surprise to me was getting Gabe Vincent away from Miami,” he revealed. “I thought he was going to stay in Miami.

“The guy proved that he can play this game, plays with a lot of passion, a lot of heart, hell of a defender, can shoot the ball, understands the game extremely well. I was really surprised and very happily surprised that the Lakers were able to pull that one off.”
