The Milwaukee Bucks have signed guard TyTy Washington Jr. on a two-way deal, the team officially announced via X.

The 29th pick of last year’s Draft, Washington spent his rookie year with the Houston Rockets. But given the loaded talent that the franchise has, he played the majority of the 2022-23 season on the club’s G League affiliate in Rio Grande Valley Vipers by averaging 23.0 points, 6.0 assists, and 4.6 boards for a total of 18 games.

Washington, 21, appeared for 31 matches in Houston and just tallied 4.7 points, 1.5 boards, and 1.5 assists. He was first shipped by the Rockets this offseason to the Atlanta Hawks in a multi-team deal before ultimately landing and being released by the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Bucks’ 2023 offseason didn’t see an important ball-handling addition for starter Jrue Holiday upon free-agent guard Jevon Carter’s exit to head to the Chicago Bulls. But this signing of Washington Jr. may at least hand the contending club a temporary unit to back up the 33-year-old star.
