Thanks to the remarkable performance of Luka Doncic, Slovenia triumphed over a determined Venezuela with a score of 100-85, initiating their FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 journey on a positive note.

The Okinawa Arena was packed with an appreciative crowd on Saturday night. Doncic made a remarkable World Cup debut, showcasing his prowess with an impressive 37 points while shooting at an impressive 61 percent from the field.

Additionally, he secured 7 rebounds and provided 6 assists. In a display of his all-around skills, Doncic also garnered 2 steals and a block in just under 31 minutes of play, amassing an impressive efficiency rating of 39.0.

“We knew it was gonna be a very difficult game,” the Dallas Mavericks star said. “We played against Venezuela two years ago [Olympic Qualifying Tournament]. They were a very physical team, and they can shoot the ball very well. It wasn’t an easy game. We had to fight ’til the end. In the end, we got the win.”
