It hasn’t been finalized yet amid the non-stop chatter, but plenty of experts from ESPN do already consider Chris Paul as the bonafide Sixth Man for the Golden State Warriors.

But what’s even more surprising is that they picked the star point man as a favorite to win the coveted award of the said role for the upcoming season.

Paul, who was acquired by the Warriors in an offseason trade with the Washington Wizards, occupied the top spot on the Sixth Man of the Year voting made by several ESPN analysts recently with 42 points.

“Our experts say the Golden State Warriors struck gold with point guard Chris Paul, who joins one of the deepest teams in the league. The 12-time All-Star is entering his 19th season, and although Paul has never come off the bench, his contributions as a reserve could strengthen the Warriors’ title chances.”

Since obtaining Paul, cloudy questions have already moved above the heads of the Dubs with regards to the future Hall of Famer’s role for them. But more than these, they can only feel the excitement and optimism with Steve Kerr, Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green already delivered their sky-high hopes for Golden State upon having a generational floor general and an ex-rival at their side.

As it is, Paul’s place in Golden State will only be confirmed when the training camp hits. But given the already constructed robust five-man lineup of the Warriors, having him assigned as the Sixth Man won’t be a definite shocker from the basketball standpoint.
