In the wake of Damian Lillard’s trade request from the Portland Trail Blazers to the Miami Heat this summer after a 11-year stint, teammate Anfernee Simons has offered his perspective on the situation.
During his basketball camp, Simons was asked by Aaron J. Fentress about the potential departure of his mentor and the impact it might have.
The 24-year-old shooting guard Simons revealed, “A lot of people ask me that question all the time, obviously, like what’s going on with Dame. I say, ‘They say he asked for a trade, he asked for a trade.’ That was it.
“Obviously, me and Dame have a close relationship. I’m always going to support him no matter what,” he stated, underscoring the depth of their connection and his unwavering loyalty to Lillard.
