Free agent forward Greg Brown and wing Joe Wieskamp have agreed to sign training camp contracts with the Dallas Mavericks, league sources tell Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Selected as the 43rd pick in the 2021 draft, Brown began his professional career with the Portland team, where he played in 64 matches for the Trail Blazers in his initial season and a half.

However, he didn’t manage to secure a consistent spot in the main lineup, with an average performance of 4.0 points and 2.4 rebounds in 11.5 minutes per game. His shooting accuracy stood at .422 for field goals, .294 for three-pointers, and .636 for free throws.

In the 2021 draft, Wieskamp was selected just two picks before Brown. During his rookie season, he participated in 29 games for the Spurs; however, he wasn’t kept on the team for a subsequent season.

He secured two 10-day contracts with the Raptors in January of this current year. Subsequently, in February, he secured a multiyear contract. This agreement, however, was initially guaranteed only for the remainder of the 2022/23 season.

As a result, he was released by the Toronto team last month, prior to his salary for the 2023/24 season becoming assured.
