Both EJ Liddell and the New Orleans Pelicans have agreed on a three-year deal worth $6.2 million as relayed by Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Per Charania, the contract grants the Pelicans to have a team option for the third year in the 2025-26 season which stands at $2.3MM in value.

Liddell, a standout forward from Ohio State, was selected by New Orleans for the 41st pick of last year’s draft. Unfortunately, he suffered from a devastating ACL injury in his right knee during the club’s Summer League campaign which ultimately sidelined him for the entire 2022-23 season.

Despite his unavailability, the Pelicans opted to sign him into a two-way contract for two years prior to the season opener.

After a year of recovery, Liddell will find himself back in this year’s Summer League as he headlines the Pels’ tournament opener against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday.
