As the Trail Blazers continue searching for trade partners that would send a high caliber player to Portland in return for the No. 3 pick, more names come up in the media.

One of them is Karl-Anthony Towns whose tenure with the Timberwolves might be coming to an end after eight years with the team.

However, with the NBA Draft fast approaching, there is no traction on a potential trade, per Jon Krawczynski. “There is nothing close right now,” he said on his podcast, via Jonathan Harrison of Sports Illustrated. “I know that so many people are really excited about possibly trading KAT to Portland for No. 3 and all that.

“I’m not saying it will definitely not happen, but as of today…36 hours before the draft…they haven’t gotten any traction on anything big yet.”

This past season Towns averaged 20.8 points, 8.1 rebounds and 4.8 assists in 33 minutes per game. He will enter the final year of his 5-year, $158 million contract and is set to earn $36 million next season.
