It was confirmed that the New Orleans Pelicans have a strong interest in Scoot Henderson, league sources confirmed Rod Walker of New Orleans Times-Picayune.
Plenty of rumors suggest that the Pelicans are leaning towards acquiring either the Top 2 or 3 overall pick of the upcoming NBA Draft. The Charlotte Hornets are at the front at the No. 2 pick and are followed by the Portland Trail Blazers at No. 3.
In the wake of this desire by the club to land the G League prospect, Zion Williamson’s future in New Orleans has been drawing trade chatter around the league, and it is widely believed that the franchise is much more committed to sticking around with Brandon Ingram than the star big man due to his injury history and availability issues.
Henderson and Alabama standout Brandon Miller is assumed to take the second and third spots of the rookie selection. French wunderkind Victor Wembanyama is already expected to be chosen as the first overall pick by the lottery winners in San Antonio Spurs.
