As he got a key offseason situation to decide for himself and the Golden State Warriors, Donte DiVincenzo is still nothing but happy with the Bay Area experience he had this season.

“What I will say is I absolutely love being a Golden State Warrior,” DiVincenzo said in his season exit interview with the Warriors, per C.J. Holmes of the San Francisco Chronicle. “The guys in the locker room, the coaching staff, the training staff, from day one, it’s felt like home.

” …  My goal this summer is to just get better. You know, to be able to take a step next year for the Warriors and try to expand even more; to be in a system I’m familiar with and just grow from there and get better as a player and as a man.”

DiVincenzo was signed by the Dubs last offseason for a two-year, $9.3 million deal. This contract holds a player option worth $4.7MM for the next season.

Many seemed to believe that he exceeded expectations and elevated his value – averaging 9.4 points, 4.5 boards and 3.5 assists – all signs are pointing that he’ll opt out and test the free agency waters to earn more.

Amid speculations, DiVincenzo still prefers to calm things down, with the gates of the offseason market just plenty of weeks away to finally open.

“We’ll cross that bridge once we get there,” he said.
