Draymond Green on Steph Curry: “That’s the guy you want to go to war with”

Steph Curry exploded in Game 7 with 50 points, leading the Warriors past the Kings (120-100). The superstar made history as this was the first time ever that a player scored 50 or more points in Game 7.

Draymond Green says he knew that his teammate would be locked in for the crucial game, especially since this was a rare occasion for the Dubs.

“I knew he’d be locked in,” Green said about Curry after the game. “When you have an opportunity like tonight Game 7, we haven’t had this opportunity many times, I think this was our fifth one. We played over 30 series and this is our fifth Game 7. So they’re rare. When you have rare situations, rare players do rare things

“Steph Curry was that tonight. He was absolutely amazing, he controlled the tempo of the game, he controlled the pace, no turnovers, I think he had one turnover the entire game. He had the ball the whole game. You can tell when he’s locked, his layers of focus, there’s not many defense that can stop him.”

“This one definitely feels special to watch Steph the game that he had,” Green continued. “Total domination. Those are the moments, I’m a basketball fan, as a fan you can appreciate, as a teammate it’s the guy you want to go to war with.

“Those guys, not just Steph, that’s the guys you want to go to war with Bu the way he performed, like, he left no doubt. I think that’s a beautiful things. We always talk about Game 7 and how big that is in sports and to see a GOAT leave no doubt absolutely incredible.”
