The Nuggets defeated the Suns in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals (125-107). Kevin Durant, who led Phoenix in scoring with 29 points, was asked after the game if he was surprised by the opponents.
At first the two-time NBA champion was surprised to hear such question. “Am I surprised by the Nuggets? Hell no!” Durant said.
“They’re the number one seed for a reason. They got a two-time MVP, they got a deep team. No, I’m not surprised. They can go off and win games. We got our work cut out for us. We’re looking forward to Game 2 though.”
