The Timberwolves secured the eight place in the Western Conference by defeating the Pelicans at home (113-108).

Rudy Gobert and Kyle Anderson got into it during a timeout with the French center throwing a punch to his teammate.

After the game Wolves point guard Mike Conley described the game as not normal, especially with what happened off the court.

“This is probably one of the grittier wins I think anyone will ever be a part of. The things we went through in today’s game is not normal,” Conley said, via Jon Krawczynski.

“The most important thing is we could have easily splintered. Whether it was Kyle and Rudy or hearing news about Jaden, it was one hit after another, but it just brought more out of us. We dug down deep.”

Minnesota will face the Lakers on Tuesday in the play-in tournament. The winner of this game will play the Grizzlies in the first round of the playoffs.
