Detroit Pistons head coach Dwane Casey believes mastering how to change speeds will elevate rookie Jaden Ivey’s game even higher.
(via Bally Sports Detroit):
“He makes something out of nothing, really. He gets stuck in certain situations, ‘Oh, what is he doing?’ And comes out of there like Houdini and makes a play or makes a shot. That’s something that’s a gift, that’s a skill he has. But when he really masters changing speeds, slow to fast, fast to slow, then back to fast again, his game is really gonna take off. It’s already accelerated now offensively, but when he does that, it’s gonna be a really big time for him. And he will, it’s just a matter of time. Staying locked in each play, no matter what happens. But again, that’s his next challenge, to continue to learn to change speeds.”
