D’Angelo Russell did not return in the second half for the Lakers in the game against the Rockets which Los Angeles won comfortably (134-109).
The 27-year-old point guard, who had recently missed game due to an ankle injury, felt pain in the foot, said Lakers head coach Darvin Ham.
“It was definitely precautionary,” Ham said about keeping Russell out of the game. “Just a little left foot soreness. Flared it up a little bit. He could have continued the game if we needed him to.
“We just got the bodies we have available to us know we just didn’t want to risk it. Just decided to hold him out and then he’ll be evaluated and we’ll see how he feels in the morning.”
