After spending three and a half years with the 76ers, Matisse Thybulle was traded to the Trail Blazer before this year’s trade deadline.

The 26-year-old shooting was used to mostly a bench role in Philadelphia. Since coming to Portland he became a starter and is averaging career-high 7.5 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 30.4 minutes per game.

Thybulle spoke about how different it is playing for the Blazers compared to the Sixers after facing his former team. He emphasized feeling comfortable and being wanted and needed.

“First thing was, I felt comfortable,” Thybulle said, per Sam DiGiovanni. “I didn’t realize how much you can take that for granted…To feel and know that I’m wanted and needed…I think it showed in just my ability to play and be more of myself.”
