Portland Trail Blazers two-way big man Ibou Badji underwent left knee surgery on Monday. He will be out for eight weeks, per Blazers’ release.

Portland indicated that Badji’s surgical procedure was an arthroscopic patellar chondroplasty and debridement.

The 20-year-old Senegalese big man started his career in Spain and went on to play for Milwaukee Bucks’ G League affiliate Wisconsin Herd to start the 2022-22 season. Having great shot blocking instincts with his lengthy wingspan, the Blazers signed him to a two-way deal last November.

Badji hasn’t suited up yet for the Blazers this season, and this injury ultimately shuts him down for any playing possibility in the club.
