After clearing waivers with the Cavaliers, Kevin Love has officially joined the Heat where he expects to receive a more significant role.
Miami posted a video of the former NBA champion coming out of an airplane and his initial reaction to becoming a member of the team.
“Yeah, it’s the third chapter,” Love said in the video. “Being part of the Miami Heat is a special thing, man. So, all I care about is winning, man. Excited to be a part of this and to know a lot of guys on the team. Obviously, know Pat [Riley], Andy, coach Spo, entire coaching staff.
“Excited, ready to get on the floor. Heat Nation, I’m excited. I know we get back to work Friday in the gym as of tonight. Let’s go.”
This season the 34-year-old power forward has averaged 8.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 20 minutes per game for the Cavs.
