Some of the players who got traded before the trade deadline have already agreed to buyouts with their new teams and signed elsewhere, but Russell Westbrook is not rushing.
For example, Reggie Jackson was waived by the Hornets and has signed with the Nuggets. Another example is Patrick Beverley, who was waived by the Magic after getting traded to Orlando by the Lakers. Though he is still weighing his options.
Westbrook, though, is yet to decide whether he wants to finish the season with the Jazz or to rather agree to a buyout. According to NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, the former NBA MVP will weigh his options before making a decision about his future.
“Russell Westbrook’s going to take his time at least I think through this week through the start of the All-Star break to continue talking with the Jazz about what it might look like there and getting a sense of what might be available to him in the buyout market,” Woj said on NBA Today, per HoopsHype.
This season Westbrook has averaged 15.9 points, 6.2 rebounds and 7.5 assists in 28.7 minutes per game for the Lakers.
