It would be a surprise if Kevin Durant gets traded before Feb. 9 trade deadline

Yesterday sports analyst Stephen A. Smith said that some people are telling him that Kevin Durant is on the verge of being moved after the Nets traded Kyrie Irving to the Mavericks.

However, comments by Zach Lowe indicate that this may not be the case. According to him, people around the NBA would be surprised if the two-time NBA champions gets traded before the Feb. 9 trade deadline.

“I just don’t know how likely that is, or when it would happen,” Lowe said on The Hoop Collective podcast about a potential Durant trade, per Timothy Rapp of Bleacher Report. “Around the league, I think there would be some surprise — even within the Nets — if it happened in the next four days. Because that’s an avalanche of stuff happening in a very short amount of time that all of the league needs to prepare for if it becomes a thing.”

This season Durant is averaging 29.7 points, 6.7 rebounds and 5.3 assists in 36 minutes per game.
