The acquisition of Rui Hachimura could have an impact of the Lakers’ chances of signing Kyrie Irving this summer, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
Irving has been a target for the Purple and Gold since at least last offseason. This past summer the 30-year-old point guard picked his player option and stayed with the Nets for another year.
He is set to become a free agent in July, making him available to join the Lakers. However, as Scotto points out, it would be complicated if the team also wants to keep Hachimura as his contract would eat into the cap space.
