NOLA news: Brandon Ingram return revealed

Without any potential setback, Brandon Ingram will make his return to the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday against the Minnesota Timberwolves (h/t The Athletic’s Shams Charania).

Ingram, who was diagnosed with a right toe contusion last Nov. 26, made key progress on Sunday wherein he was activated to play on a five-on-five basis in Pels’ practice.

The star swingman only managed to play 15 games this season and took time to be fully recovered from the said toe injury which he accidentally sustained against the Memphis Grizzlies.

Ingram’s return can’t even be more time a day after the club announced that Zion Williamson will be re-evaluated for two weeks with his hamstring injury. His scoring prowess would be much needed by the Pelicans as they had an up-down progress also upon his absence, tallying a 15-14 record on the 29-game stretch he missed.

This year, Ingram is averaging 20.8 points, 5.1 boards, and 4.7 assists in 47.2 percent shooting. He is also draining 46.7 percent of his threes – a career-best.
