James, Davis dominate as Lakers beat Pelicans in play-in preview

In a preview of their upcoming play-in matchup, LeBron James and Anthony Davis led the Los Angeles Lakers (47-35) to a convincing 124-108 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans (49-33).

James recorded a triple-double with 28 points, 17 assists, 11 rebounds, and five steals, while Davis contributed 30 points and 11 rebounds against his former team.

Despite the Pelicans’ efforts, including a return from Brandon Ingram after missing 12 games, they couldn’t contain the Lakers’ offensive firepower.

Austin Reaves and D’Angelo Russell provided valuable contributions for the Lakers, scoring 20 and 19 points respectively.

While CJ McCollum led the Pelicans with 23 points, Zion Williamson was held to just 12 points under James’ defensive pressure. Herbert Jones added 18 points.

The Lakers’ victory secured the eighth seed in the Western Conference, setting up a rematch against the Pelicans in the play-in tournament.

With the Lakers’ strong finish to the regular season, winning eight of their final 11 games, they enter the play-in tournament with momentum on their side.
