Spencer Dinwiddie on Wizards: “They’re not trying to play winning basketball”

The Mavericks lost against the Wizards in a high-scoring game 126-127 as they were unable to prevent their opponents from scoring.

Ex-Wizard Spencer Dinwiddie, who scored 20 points and dished out 8 assists for Dallas, was blunt when talking about his former team, saying that Washington is not playing winning basketball.

“They’re not playing for nothing for real,” the 29-year-old point guard said. “They just coming out here firing, like, they got people coming off the bench just firing because at the end of the day for them it’s a showcase. They over there trying to get paid. They’re not trying to play winning basketball.

“For a team that has real aspirations and has an MVP and wen to the Conference Finals last year, we have to be better to a man. Not offensively because 126 can win you a lot of games. It’s defensively.”
