Anfernee Simons is highly valued by the Trail Blazers, based on the inside information shared by NBA insider Chris Haynes. According to him, the 23-year-old shooting guard is “pretty close to untouchable.”

“I really don’t like mentioning players that could potentially be moved, especially if I haven’t heard that yet,” Haynes said on Rip City Radio. “What I will say Chad is that from what I’ve heard all season, not anything recently, but all season from Portland is that Anfernee [Simons] is pretty close to untouchable.

“That’s what I’ve heard pretty much this whole season coming out of Portland. This is not anything I’ve heard in the last two weeks I will say that. So again, things can always change, but Anfernee is somebody that they are not putting out there.”

According to Haynes, things may change if the Blazers are offered a trade that would improve the team’s chances to contend.

Simons, who was the 24th overall draft pick by Portland in 2018, singed a four-year contract extension with the team this past offseason.

This season Simons is averaging 21.7 points, 2.9 rebounds and 4 assists in 35.9 minutes per game.
