After three years with the Nuggets, Bol Bol was included in a couple of trades and ended up with the Magic. In his first season in Orlando the South Sudanese forward has flourished.

He is averaging career-high 11.9 points, 6.9 rebounds in 25.7 minutes per game. Last season he averaged just 2.4 points and 1.4 rebounds in 5.8 minutes per game in Denver.

His former teammate Michael Porter Jr. says it was difficult to see Bol not getting an opportunity with the Nuggets. He knew that the 23-year-old forward was a good player.

“We all knew that he was a very talented player,” Porter said, per Harrison Wind. “I just feel like, man, some situations can really make or break careers.

“Being over here and being behind some guys, not being in the rotation, we all felt for him, because we didn’t want it to last too long to where he couldn’t get over the hump and become the player that he could be.

“I’m glad he got in a situation where they’ve got a long of young dudes, they let him play, he’s able to do what he’s doing right now. For sure.”
