LOOK: Eric Gordon posts cryptic, angry emoji tweet following another Rockets downslide loss

Frustrations of losing could be overwhelming now on the side of Eric Gordon.

Following another defeat of the Houston Rockets this time against the L.A. Clippers, 122-106, Gordon posted a cryptic tweet on his account that drew plenty of reactions around the league’s social media circle.

In the postgame, the 33-year-old guard provided a chunky assessment of the team’s ball rotation. The Rockets racked up 17 assists in the evening, adding up to their 26th-ranked assist per game (21.9) as a group this season.

The Monday failure further adds a layer to Houston’s pile of losses to start this 2022-23 campaign, now holding the worst record in the league with a 2-12 card.

In hindsight, no one can blame Gordon’s probable feelings about the continuing downslide of the club. Amid being a component of trade rumors for the past two seasons, the Rockets decided to not cut ties with him yet due to the veteran leadership he brings to the young squad and their ongoing rebuild program.

Gordon has been in Rockets camp since 2016 and is the only member remaining of their previous title-contending core that was bannered by James Harden.

Throughout 11 games so far this season, Gordon is averaging 12.9 points, 3.4 assists, and 2.0 boards in 45.4 percent shooting across 30.6 minutes of play. His current numbers can clearly tell that he is still quite capable of being a key contributor for a contending team elsewhere.

He is now in the third year of his four-year, $75.6M extension he signed with the Rockets brass back in 2019. The final year is non-guaranteed.
