Jamal Murray not suiting up for Denver vs Golden State — HC Mike Malone

After being listed initially as questionable, Jamal Murray will sit out on the Denver Nuggets’ heavyweight clash against the Golden State Warriors this Friday, head coach Mike Malone addressed the media (per ESPN’s Kendra Andrews).

Per Malone, this adjustment came from the fact that the Nuggets will play three games in a four-night span, including a back-to-back. As such, this won’t necessarily serve as a scheme for Murray all season long.

Denver previously played the Utah Jazz in their season opener, with Oklahoma City Thunder up next for them tomorrow following their bout against the Warriors.

Murray, who missed over 500 days of competitive basketball as he recovered from an ACL tear, made his first comeback against the Jazz, dropping 12 points, two rebounds and an assist for 26 minutes of play on a losing effort.

Meanwhile, reigning MVP Nikola Jokic is good to go to lead the Nuggets against the reigning champs despite soreness in his wrist.

The Nuggets’ impending matchup against the Dubs is a rematch of their last postseason encounter, wherein the latter prevailed via 4-1 series win and eventually won the NBA title.
