Rockets’ K.J. Martin drawing interest from Heat, Suns, Blazers

High-flying Houston Rockets wing K.J. Martin has been drawing plenty of interest amongst several teams.

Per Jake Fischer of Yahoo! Sports, the young forward is absorbing interest from the Phoenix Suns, Miami Heat and the Portland Trail Blazers.

“Rockets forward K.J. Martin, another forward known to have interest in playing elsewhere, is one player the [Phoenix] Suns have held ongoing talks about obtaining, sources said,” wrote Fischer. “Portland and Miami are two other known teams with interest in Martin.”

Notably last offseason, The Athletic’s Kelly Iko detailed that Martin requested a trade out of Houston. His looming position in the club given its current logjam at the frontcourt slate has motivated him to express his intent to start a new beginning from a different place.

Though his desire hasn’t been granted yet, Martin Jr. is keeping his professionalism intact and still around the young Rockets team.

Martin Jr. has been in the Rockets since the start of his career. He is set to enter the third-year of his professional stint while having career averages of 9.0 points, 4.3 boards and 1.2 assists.
