Heat believe Miami to be Jae Crowder’s preferred destination

Jae Crowder did not join the Suns for the training camp and has reportedly requested a trade after being told that he not longer has a secure starting spot.

Several teams appeared in the media as potential suitors for the 32-year-old forward. One of them is Heat, a team that Crowder during the bubble season that went all the way to the NBA Finals.

There appears to be mutual interest for the two side to join forces again. According to Jake Fischer of Yahoo! Sports, the team officials believe Miami to be Crowder’s preferred destination.

The Heat is looking to replace P.J. Tuck who left the team this offseason as a free agent and signed with the 76ers. However, instead of trading for Crowder, Miami could wait for his contract to be bought out by Phoenix and then get him at a much cheaper price.

Last season Crowder averaged 9.4 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 67 minutes per game as a starter for Phoenix.
